Your MHCU Visa Debit Card may be used to purchase goods and services from participating merchants. You may also use your card to withdraw funds from your share (savings) account or your share draft (checking) account at an ATM. You can transfer funds between your accounts (except club accounts), obtain balance information on your accounts and make point of sale (POS) transactions with your card and personal identification number (PIN).You may order goods or services by mail, internet or telephone from places that accept Visa. You’re billing address and delivery address should be the same for your protection.
However, you may not use your card to initiate any type of gambling transaction. You agree that you will not use your card for any transaction that is illegal under applicable federal, state or local law.
You may not use your card to rent a vehicle. Car rental agencies are coded not to accept our Visa debit card. Please be aware of this and plan accordingly. It is always better to use a credit card such as MasterCard for these transactions.
Please be aware that some gas stations place large holds on your funds when you swipe your card at the pump. MHCU automatically places a $40.00 hold for gas purchases. Some gas stations hold as much as $125.00 until your actual gas purchase amount clears your account. If your funds are limited, you can go inside and tell the cashier that you want to get $20.00 (or any set amount) and your card will be charged that exact amount. When swiping at the pump, you are approved before you start pumping.
There is no limit to the number of Visa Debit Card purchases per day. Purchase amounts are limited to $1,500.00 aggregated POS and ATM within a 24 hour period. You may make four (4) cash withdrawals in any one (1) day from an ATM. You may withdraw up to a maximum of $500.00 cash in any one (1) day.
You can also get cash back when making a purchase if that option is made available by the merchant. There are no fees associated with POS transactions.
Always keep your address and phone numbers current with Memorial Health Credit Union. Should there be any questionable activity with your debit card, a representative of Falcon will contact you to be sure that you are in possession of your card and that you are indeed participating in these transactions. If Falcon is unable to reach you via the numbers you have provided us, they will temporarily block your card until you can be reached for verification. This is for your protection.
